The Carroll Group held a Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday 6th December at the Brunswick Community Centre, Marsh Lane.
The concert was held to thank local residents for their patience during recent work in the area. Carroll Group employees were on hand to talk to residents and organise the event, with help from the staff at The Brunswick, and got into the spirit of the event by donning Christmas hats.
Terry Carroll, Managing Director of The Carroll Group, said: “The local residents have been very patient while work has been ongoing. We wanted to hold this event to thank them for their cooperation and patience, and share some festive cheer with the local community.”
The concert included performances from classical singer Danielle Thomas, The Irish Guards Choir and The Brunswick Community Centre’s St James’ Brownies Pack. The event began at 3pm, with hot chocolate and refreshments served for attendees, around the Christmas tree, and children were given the chance to meet Father Christmas.
The concert began with Danielle Thomas, The Irish Guards Choir and St James’ Brownies singing a number of Christmas favourites, including Away in a Manger and Little Donkey. There were performances from Danielle Thomas and The Irish Guards Choir, with attendees encouraged to join in. The performances finished with a rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas which was enjoyed by all.
Evelyn, a local resident, said: “The event was marvellous. It’s good to see our local Brownies involved too.”
Mary Jo, also a local resident, said of the event: “Danielle has a wonderful voice and it was good to see the local children involved.”
Mary Jo also said of the ongoing work being done by The Carroll Group: “The Carroll Group workers have been marvellous, working in all weathers, and they are doing a very important job in tough conditions.”
